Bishop Archiband
Hero's Lore
A bishop from the “Light Seekers”. He got blinded by the sacred fire, and may only see with his third eye.
How far can Faith take you? It’s a powerful force that has led to passionate wars, families being joined, or others being destroyed. It has brought luck and abundance to kingdoms or corrupted them from the inside and made them crumble. But faith has also been tied to knowledge, and this quest for knowledge is what keeps Archiband alive. Since birth, he’s been a traveler looking for the answers to life, always full of questions and with a gaze of wonder.
He was traveling one day and found out about the light seekers’ church. Archiband stumbled upon an interesting fact: this church was also in love with knowledge. They ejerced in combat and philosophy (love for knowledge) and were faithful servants of the light beings. These “light gods” were considered the protectors of creation and the vassals of wisdom. This new feeling pierced his heart and gave up traveling to follow the church’s teachings.
He quickly became a brave priest and was acknowledged by his curiosity and determination. One day walking inside the church’s library, he stumbled upon a book and found inside a certain ritual to communicate with one of these light beings. He was enthraled by this information and started studying diligently. During an eclipse, he went into a savanna deep inside of the country and found a giant circle that held the rumor about it being a birthplace of a lightbeing.
He started a ritual where he stayed there with his eyes open, and after 13 hours of meditation with his eyes towards the sky, a flashing light came down. This light was so bright that it blinded him, he lost both of his physical eyes, but a new power was born. He opened a third eye and saw one of the light beings. This brilliant light spoke: “Because of your devotion today I will save your soul and give you more wisdom than you ever imagine.”
After this encounter, he returned and was granted the title of archbishop.
Since this incident, Archiband is always well respected and looked up to as a mentor. He still enjoys studying and debating alongside other scholars about more wisdom, but now he had developed an innate understanding of things he was completely devoted. He fights fearlessly against enemies of the church or debates against other religions.
The problem is now that he just wants more wisdom and his position as an archbishop, demands a lot of him, between helping people, protecting the church, and living life. It leaves him little time to study and improve in the Light’s wisdom. Archiband’s main goal is to meet them once again a Light Being to achieve unlimited wisdom. He imagines he can become to be a full servant of Light.
His faith is going to be put to the test once again as a new order of ascended masters came into the land, and they were looking for debating ideas about the light. As Archiband, they had also seen the light being themselves, and they were trying to find what was the truth. What was the best way to qualify or determine the light beings. What was their purpose in this planet?
