Lord Cyrus
Hero's Lore
Head of the Noble house of Valia. A charismatic aristocrat who will destroy anything or anyone that gets in his way.
Not even in the underworld can an individual escape from the aristocracy and social hierarchies. In this world, it is better to be an aristocrat than not. Here, the status of nobility is a reflection of military power and political connections.
The underworld is tormented by a racial war. There are two major races the Urdians and the Zadonians . The Urdians have a pale complexion, are cold-blooded, and depend on the heat from the emanating magma. They feed and power their civilization from it. Unfortunately, they have been displaced by the Zadonians and currently live in impoverished conditions.
The Zadonians, were originally envoys of the first Demon King, and are their direct descendants. They are highly militaristic and have demonic physical features. They were sent to the Underworld as they have a natural affinity for the fire element and could adapt to the environment. Nonetheless, they do not seek a comfortable livelihood, their objective is to control the underground magma flow as a war tool.
The Underworld is the subterranean area of the demonic dimension. As the above-ground demons are not unified and rather live in constant power struggles and conflict, controlling the underworld magma and directing it as they wish could prove to be a powerful weapon that could determine once and for all the hegemony.
Nowadays, one particular noble from the Zadonians stands above the rest: Lord Cyrus. He can indeed be described as a bloody bastard. He is highly intelligent, Machiavellian, and always shows a mischievous smile. He controls a major magma node that is linked to Mt. Magna above ground. Lord Cyrus does not take action to promote a political/militaristic agenda; rather he looks only after himself and uses his power for his own amusement. As long as he can live comfortably in his magma-view mansion and drink his favorite blood wine, he will be happy.
Unfortunately, the Urdians stand in the way of his lavish lifestyle. He has killed, extortioned, and manipulated them for generations. While his military prowess has kept him relatively protected, there is no real way to guarantee safety. From one side, Cyrus faces direct opposition from the Urdians in the form of war, assassination attempts, and complots. On the other side, he experiences something similar from his own people. Other Aristocrats plot political maneuvers to take over what he has gained, betrayal from friends who were bought by the highest bidder and disloyal subordinates who would attempt to take his life if they would see any sign of weakness or chance to take his position and riches.
How does Lord Cyrus react to his situation? He loves it. Thinking of possible plots against him, outsmarting and overpowering enemies is his fetish. Not only does he have a cunning personality, but he also has the physical and magical power to back up his ego. He has the power to
take it all, insatiable greed looking to expand his pleasures, all while stomping everyone beneath him.
What will his future bring? Fortune? Or will justice one day catch up to him? Perhaps he will create his own justice…
